KITGUM, UGANDA – Maicamo Pool Club etched its name into the history books after winning the inaugural Club Owners Tournament, hosted at Soweto Pool Club in Quarters, in a landmark event aimed at strengthening unity among pool club owners and promoting the sport across Northern Uganda.

The tournament brought together more than 16 clubs, including Snipers Pool Club, Soweto Pool Club, Jaguar's Den, Wii-Lam Pool Club, Zone Pub Shooters, Amop Pool Club (Kitgum-Matidi), Salai Pool Club, Tik Tok Pool Club, Arizona Pool Club, Maicamo Pool Club, Chicago Pool Club (Palabek), Commander One Pool Club, Top Link in Agweng, Akwang Sub County among others.

Unlike traditional competitions, the event was exclusively reserved for club owners, creating a platform to build partnerships, showcase their businesses, and reinforce their shared commitment to growing cue sports in the region.

The championship match featured Mr. Oling Bosco of Maicamo Pool Club against Dr. Obwot Denis of Jaguar's Den. After an entertaining final, Oling Bosco emerged victorious to become the first-ever champion of the tournament winning 7:3.

Participants praised the success of the event and proposed that it become a rotational monthly tournament, with different clubs hosting each edition while maintaining the existing competition calendar.

The successful debut of the Club Owners Tournament signals a promising future for pool in Kitgum, proving that collaboration among club owners can play a vital role in developing the sport and strengthening the local pool community.

As history records its first champion, Maicamo Pool Club, attention now turns to the next host, where another chapter in this exciting journey will be written.
